Health and Safety
BISC Łódżhas an arrangement with a local English-speaking doctor who visits the school every week. In consultation with parents, newly enrolled pupils have a medical check-up soon after starting school.
All students are covered by “Hestia” insurance, which provides compensation for accidents that occur during school hours. BISC Łódż will also register with a private medical company to provide a paramedic service guaranteeing that any possible accidents which occur on the school premises or during a school-related trip are dealt with instantly.
As part of BISC Łódż policy, teaching staff undergo regular training in First Aid, Fire Safety and evacuation procedures. The school has regular health & safety inspections.
Communication with Parents
Upon enrolment at BISC Łódż, all parents are given a ‘Parent Handbook’ containing information on all aspects of school life.
Regular written communication is provided in the form of a weekly newsletter to parents and a system of ‘correspondence books’ for each pupil. These provide the opportunity for written communication between teachers and parents, and also enables parents to monitor their child’s homework.
Each week there is a ‘Round Table’ meeting with parents from a specific age group within the school, eg. Early Years, Primary and Secondary. These meetings are open to all parents and provide an informal opportunity to discuss any issues that may arise.
Formal Parent-teacher meetings for the whole school are held once every term. These are organised on the basis of pre-booked appointments with subject teachers and form teachers. Appointments with the Head of School can be made through the school secretary whenever necessasry.
